Comcast-owned thePlatform has expanded its presence in Latin America thanks to a new agreement with LSDLive.
The deal allows LSDLive, which is a live event producer in Argentina, to blend thePlatform’s mpx system into its suite of video production services, encoding, uploading, and live event technical support. Terms of the agreement weren’t announced.
“We’ve had our eye on the tremendous opportunity in Latin America for some time,” said Marty Roberts, senior vice president of sales and marketing at thePlatform. “Now, with LSDLive, we have a partner with proven experience and an exceptional reputation serving the Latin America video market. Their expertise in live events, coupled with our cloud-based video management system, will provide programmers, TV operators, and other content owners an unmatched choice for their video businesses.”
The two companies also announced a roster of customers that will be using their integrated technologies for online video publishing, which included: Grupo Clarin, Infobae, Paka Paka, Canal Encuentro, 360tv Digital, and Iurd TV.
“ThePlatform makes video publishing easy, at scale, for many of the largest media and entertainment companies in the world,” said Marcelo Brodsky, president of LSDLive. “Mpx was the obvious choice when it came time to partner with a cloud-based video management system that could meet our needs. Together, LSDLive is even better placed to provide expanded services throughout the region.”
Announced customers for thePlatform include: A+E Networks, Astral, BT, Cablevision, CBC, Comcast, Cox Communications, E!, the Golf Channel, HIT Entertainment, Liberty Global, NBC Local Media, NBC Sports Regional Networks, Outdoor Channel, Oxygen, Rogers, Shaw Media, Style, Syfy, Time Warner Cable, Travel Channel Media, truTV, and USA Network.
