Bolstered by a nice run of new customer signings, ThinkAnalytics reported 2012 financials that saw a doubling of its revenue and profits over the previous year.
Recent new customer signings include Cox Communications, Swisscom, Unitymedia in Germany, Zon in Portugal and Nordic operator Canal Digital.
The company also recently announced its participation in the Comcast RDK project. While contributing no revenue to 2012, the move opens the opportunity for ongoing growth in 2013.
“2012 marked the coming of age for the media recommendations engine and content discovery market, with most operators commencing field trials or starting full deployment rollouts,” said Peter Docherty, the company’s founder and chief technology officer.
ThinkAnalytics’ Recommendations Engine enables broadcasters and pay-TV operators to deliver personalized TV recommendations that combine multiple sources of data (e.g., linear TV consumption, VOD, DVR, Web, tablets, mobile, social media, etc.) across screens in 12 languages.
ThinkAnalytics’ customers also include Liberty Global, BSkyB and Virgin Media. With recent signings of new clients, the company says its customer base now includes more than 40 operators representing 100 million licensed subscribers.
