Tandberg Television today announced that Tianjin Broadcast & TV Network has deployed a fully redundant cable headend built on its iSIS 8000 platform.
The deployment included encoders, multiplexers, and QAM modulators from Tandberg and represented the first time Tandberg had deployed its MX8400 IP multiplexer in China. Tandberg said the deployment will enable Tianjin Cable to harness the efficiencies of IP as it expands its cable Pay-TV business.
The new Tandberg headend was integrated by Tandberg’s PRC business partner NDT.
Tianjin Broadcast and TV Networks Co., established in 2000, is one of the largest cable TV operators in China. It’s a state-owned organization responsible for planning, construction, operation, and management of the cable TV network of Tianjin City.
