MSOs continue to gradually accrete more networks for their TV Everywhere line-ups. Time Warner Cable and ally Bright House Networks said they have just signed A&E, History and Lifetime.
TWC is already hosting the apps for those networks as part of its TV Everywhere offerings. Bright House Networks will follow next week.
TWC and Bright House customers with Apple iOS and Android devices will gain access to those networks on phones, tablets and on desktop via the web at no additional cost.
Customers can verify their subscription by choosing “Time Warner Cable” from the list of TV providers within the apps, and logging in using their Time Warner Cable username and password.
The apps also include social sharing where customers can post to Twitter, Facebook or emails with a direct link. Customers can download them for free from the App Store and Google Play.
“We’re excited to add the power and popularity of programming from A+E Networks to the ever-growing stable of content our customers access when they’re on the go,” said Mike Angus, SVP & GM of video at Time Warner Cable. “Duck Dynasty, Storage Wars, Dance Moms and Pawn Stars add a lot more fuel to our TV Everywhere fire, and deliver more of what our customers want.”
“We are pleased to launch A+E Networks’ watch apps with our great partners at Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks,” said Mark Garner, senior vice president, distribution, business development, analytics and marketing at A+E Networks. “A+E Networks has been at the forefront of TV Everywhere and we are thrilled that Time Warner Cable’s valued customers will now be able to enjoy A+E Networks’ portfolio of brands on iOS and Android phones.”
