Time Warner Cable MoviePass subscribers now have access to Vutopia’s movie service on their PC and Mac computers and laptops across the cable operator’s entire footprint.
The Vutopia service gives Time Warner Cable MoviePass customers instant access to hundreds of movies and trailers on either the set-top boxes in their homes or online anywhere in the nation.
The TV Everywhere element of Vutopia is available at no additional cost to Time Warner Cable’s customers after they authenticate themselves with their Time Warner Cable user name and password to gain access to the online content on Vutopia’s Web portal.
A spokesman for Time Warner Cable said there were no plans at this time to offer the Vutopia content on Apple iOS or Android devices.
Vutopia’s on-demand service launched in 2010 and currently offers hundreds of commercial-free, recent and classic movies available to watch anytime, including Hollywood favorites, independent films and documentaries from around the world. About 300 titles are available both on subscribers’ televisions, as well as online, with new titles added each month.
Current examples of the hundreds of movies in the service include: “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon,” “28 Days,” “Bugsy,” “Charlie’s Angels,” “Philadelphia,” “Donnie Brasco” and “All the Pretty Horses.”
Two years ago, Cox Communications started offering Vutopia’s content to its Movie Pak customers online and in VOD.
Time Warner Cable’s MoviePass is a collection of movie services, both linear and on-demand, featuring more than 500 hours of film from almost every genre. Other movie services in MoviePass include the Encore channels, Fox Movie Channel, Disney Family Movies and FearNet.
