Time Warner Cable started offering its Road Runner Extreme residential service yesterday in Cincinnati.
Time Warner Cable subscribers in the Cincinnati area now have access to the Road Runner Extreme tier, which features 30 Mbps on the downstream and 5 Mbps on the upstream, according to a story in The Cincinnati Enquirer.
Road Runner Extreme costs $69.90 per month for Internet-only subscribers, or an additional $19.90 per month for current Road Runner customers.
Cincinnati was the location of Time Warner Cable’s second DOCSIS 3.0 deployment, following up on the first launch in New York City last fall, but both of the tiers were for business-class customers.
Extreme is available to 75 percent of Time Warner Cable’s Cincinnati footprint, with the rest of the area coming on line by the end of the month.
As for DOCSIS 3.0 rollouts, Time Warner Cable’s 50 Mbps down/5 Mbps up wideband service is slated to launch in Charlotte, N.C., over the next few weeks.
