Time Warner Cable has sweetened its triple play bundle with the addition of its Global Penny Phone Plan, which features calling to land-line phones in over 40 countries worldwide for as little as one penny per minute.
The new offer includes Time Warner Cable’s data, video and unlimited nationwide phone services for as low as $89.99 a month. Additionally, current Time Warner Cable phone customers can add the new Global Penny Phone plan for $2.95 more a month.
The Global Penny Phone plan also includes calls to mobile lines in India, China and Singapore for a penny per minute.
“We at Time Warner Cable are excited to introduce Global Calling customized packages with unprecedented international rates to allow our customers to connect with their families and loved ones, especially now that the holiday season is approaching,” said Jeffrey A. Hirsch, executive vice president, chief marketing officer, residential services for Time Warner Cable. “As demographics change so do the needs of our customers.”
Current global calling destinations include land-line phones in: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Brunei, Canada, China, China Mobile, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hong Kong Mobile, Hungary, Iceland, India, India Mobile, Ireland, Italy, Korea Rep (South), Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Singapore Mobile, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, United Kingdom, and Venezuela.
In order to combat the likes of AT&T and Verizon, Time Warner Cable has been aggressive on the triple play bundle front. In its third quarter earnings report earlier this month, Time Warner Cable president and chief operating officer Rob Marcus said the company added 27,000 more triple play subscribers, which was a record number of triple play connections, than the year before.
