Time Warner Cable is once again laying claim to having the most HD channel offerings in New York City with more than 175 HD choices.
Time Warner Cable also said its digital TV customers in the Big Apple now have access to new international packages, on-demand choices and digital channels.
“Time Warner Cable offers the best and biggest HD lineup in New York City. We’re excited to announce that our customers now have access to more than 175 HD channels and that additional HD on-demand channels are coming soon,” said David Gray, regional vice president of marketing for Time Warner Cable’s East Region. “Along with the expansion of HD, we continue to augment our digital and on-demand offerings, making it simple and easy for customers to access the shows they want.
“In an effort to deliver more programming options and value to our diverse customers, we’re also introducing several international packages, which provide a cost-effective option for viewing programming from around the world.”
The new HD channels include Bloomberg HD, OWN HD, Oxygen HD and Lifetime HD.
Time Warner Cable also said it had created several international packages, designed to provide customers with savings of up to 65 percent and access to many popular in-language channels from select countries through specially priced packages.
In addition to the satellite companies, Time Warner Cable competes with Verizon in boroughs of New York City. In March, Time Warner Cable said it had 165 HD channels, while Verizon was carrying 137, although a Verizon spokeswoman noted that Verizon didn’t have access to some HD channels, including Madison Square Garden-owned MSG HD and MSG Plus HD, as well as Time Warner Cable-owned NY1 HD. Madison Square Garden was spun-off from Cablevision last year.
