Yet another MSO has adopted the hybrid box approach, with Comporium now offering to its subscribers the option of leasing TiVo’s Premiere box.
Comporium is sourcing the TiVo boxes through Evolution Digital, also its supplier of DTA boxes.
The TiVo box delivers Comporium digital cable channels, including high-definition, and Internet video-on-demand, including video from YouTube, Blockbuster On Demand and Amazon Video On Demand.
Comporium is leasing the first unit for $16.95 a month, or $10 more than the HD DVRs it has been offering. Each additional Premiere leases for another $16.95 per month, or $4 more than an additional HD DVR.
Comporium is the latest service provider to offer TiVo’s Premiere, following Charter (which made the announcement last week), Suddenlink and RCN.
