Smallest Advanced 3D Scanning System
LMI Technologies has announced the HDI 120 3D Scanner, the smallest advanced 3D scanning system using blue LED projection technology.
The HDI 120 is useful for reverse engineering, 3D inspection, measurement, and visualization. With a solid aluminum body that is dust proof and water resistant (IP67 rated), this pre-calibrated scanner is built to operate in harsh environments, is portable, and designed to fit in small spaces.
Powered by FlexScan3D software, users can process 3D data immediately with built-in data editing, alignment, and merging capabilities without exporting to a separate post-processing software application.
New features target speed, lighting, and visualization quality.
Chaos Group has launched V-Ray 2.0 for SketchUp, the biggest expansion to V-Ray for SketchUp’s rendering capabilities.
The introduction of GPU support for V-Ray RT provides faster rendering and real time interactions with speed improvements up to 30 times faster. With 64-bit rendering, 3D artists can tap their 64-bit render farm for more processing power with added flexibility to render larger scene sizes, images, and animations in SketchUp. The ability to produce animation for SketchUp projects has also been streamlined, ensuring a cleaner and easier creation process.
AlignCam for Precision Alignment Instruments
The AlignCam solution brings together a digital camera and high quality CCD sensor with TeleView software and an instrument adapter.
Brunson Instrument has announced the next-gen AlignCam system for its current line of alignment telescopes, levels, and transits.
The system provides a live image and continuous feedback on sight lines, and a specially-designed adapter for quick, on-site user installation.
A mobile option allows a single operator to view the image on a mobile device anywhere in the workspace or around the world. This optional kit includes:
- A laptop computer.
- A remote viewer.
- A wireless router.
- A network cable.
- A hard case or backpack for easy portability.
Industrial Software Development Kit
Support for EtherNet/IP in addition to PROFIBUS and EtherCAT enables OEMs to connect their devices to a wider range of PLCs or HMI systems.
With extended protocol support in Texas Instrument’s Sitara AM335x industrial SDK, OEMs can now connect their PLCs or I/O devices to two or more types of PLCs or HMI systems for enhanced connectivity flexibility in industrial automation systems.
Supported through a single chip, OEMs can design scalable solutions with one printed circuit board based on TI’s Sitara AM335x processors and change the protocol software in the processor’s PRU depending on system requirements. The PRU is a 32-bit processing engine that is optimized for industrial protocols and other real-time tasks. It eliminates the need for an additional FPGA or ASIC. The industrial SDK runs on the differentiated ARM + PRU system-on-chip architecture on Sitara AM335x processors.
Advanced Hydraulics Library for MapleSim
New add-on component library the result of a technology partnership with Modelon.
Maplesoft has announced the latest addition to the MapleSim product family, the MapleSim Hydraulics Library from Modelon. With the MapleSim Hydraulics Library from Modelon, engineers can seamlessly incorporate industry-tested hydraulics components while continuing to take full advantage of all the modeling, analysis, and simulation abilities of MapleSim.
The MapleSim Hydraulics Library from Modelon includes more than 150 components for modeling pumps, motors, cylinders, restrictions, valves, hydraulic lines, lumped volumes, and sensors. It enables engineers to produce high-fidelity models by accounting for compressible oil and cavitation effects, resulting in an accurate view of system dynamics.
