Verification Tool Increases Accuracy
Precisely pinpoint the problems, increase accuracy.
The new KGM 282 from HEIDENHAIN has an accuracy of ±1 µm that is maintained using a 2-piece aluminum holder when the KGM 282 is mounted to an uneven surface. Its measuring surface of 230 mm allows the user to do a variety of complex 2D movements to test the dynamics of the machine.
With a combination of ACCOM software, evaluation software, and HEIDENHAIN’s EIB 741, the user can evaluate and store the dynamic 2D motion of the machine in a laptop with an Ethernet connection.
Designers of functional safety applications can use this kit to assist in qualifying their use of the TI ARM Compiler to IEC 61508 and ISO 26262 functional safety standards.
The SafeTI Compiler Qualification Kit guides the user through a selection of features, tests, and mitigation measures, and generates required documents based on documentation templates and the qualification model. The kit includes:
- A user manual.
- Qualification support tool to help qualification configuration and document generation.
- Templates for the required safety documentation, including Tool Classification Report, Tool Qualification Plan, Tool Qualification Report and Tool Safety Manual.
- Instrumented version of the compiler to compare the compiler coverage between application and qualification tests.
- A test automation framework to run the test in the user’s environment on target hardware.
Product Simplification Software
New version delivers faster, easier-to-use analyses for streamlining parts, and product assemblies.
Boothroyd Dewhurst has announced the release of its DFA Product Simplification software, Version 10. The Design for Assembly software has an improved user interface for speed and ease of use.
The software allows engineers to examine parts and assemblies for structural efficiency, in order to create a single, multifunctional component with improved performance-to-cost ratios.
New Enhancements Get Products to Market Faster
New software capabilities enable increase in productivity.
Solid Edge ST6, the latest release of Siemens PLM, includes several new enhancements in the areas of design, simulation, and collaboration. New functionality helps users to learn, share, and collaborate with other users. Some of the new features include:
- New simulation tools that automatically optimize designs.
- Added support to make importing SolidWorks software files easier.
- A YouTube docking pane that gives users the ability to record, upload, and directly share a modeling session on YouTube, and search YouTube for other videos.
- Access to discussions, tutorials, and expert advice via a new online community.
