The Analog Devices Blackfin BF609 Embedded Vision Starter Kit includes a single board featuring all the blocks necessary to prototype an embedded vision application, including:
- An Analog Devices BF609 dual core processor.
- A high-definition CMOS color sensor with replaceable lens for video input.
- A HDMI / DVI port for output.
- 10/100 Ethernet and LED target illumination.
The kit also includes a USB-based In-Circuit Emulator providing an easy, portable, non-intrusive, debugging solution for the Kit.
Web-Based 3D Virtual Prototyping Software as a Service
A software tool for medical research and technology, PZFlex is a fast, and accurate 3D simulation software for piezoelectric and wave-propagation analysis.
Acting as a “virtual lab,” the PZFlex decreases the number of physical models a designer must produce by as much as 90% per development cycle and helps locate the problems that compromise a product’s manufacture and deployment.
The recent introduction of PZFlex on HP Cloud allows users to access PZFlex in the cloud in one click, resulting in shorter analysis time at a much lower cost than before.
Sensor Data Transmission with No Software or MCU
Holt Integrated Circuits has demonstrated the collection of sensor data and periodic real-time transmission on an ARINC 429 bus with no software or MCU.
The key enabler of this capability is the recently announced HI-8470, a 16-channel discrete-to-digital sensor with built-in ARINC 429 transmitter. All sense input thresholds and ARINC 429 transmission control are programmed via logic level input pins, eliminating the need for a microprocessor or software interface and greatly reducing software certification costs.
Newark element14 has launched the Bud Industries Board-ganizer, a solution to the problem of organizing multiple development boards and a maze of wiring, and the PiRack to connect multiple I/O to boards to the Raspberry Pi.
The Board-ganizer enclosure provides a tidy work platform, keeps components of a design project in one place, and makes breadboarded designs easy to store and transport.
Designed for use with development boards and microcomputers such as the Raspberry Pi, Arduino, and the Beagle Boards, among others, the Board-ganizer serves the ever-growing population of electronics makers and developers.
In addition, the Raspberry Pi gets extra connections with the exclusive new PiRack carrier card which adds the ability to connect multiple I/O to boards to the Raspberry Pi, expanding development potential.
Cost-Effective Solution for Recording & Playback of RF Signals
Averna and National Instruments have developed RF Studio for the USRP, an innovative and portable solution to record and play back live RF environments to accelerate RF project work.
RF Studio’s LabVIEW compatible plug-in support allows users to quickly access a rich toolset for their in-house applications, and supports additional capture sources and customized views. Features include:
- Recording and play back of real-world RF signals, up to 40 MHz wide.
- Capture of actual RF spectrum like FM, DAB, GPS, GLONASS, and cellular.
- Visualization and record of weak signals with the Noise Figure view.
- Advanced signal analysis with Spectrum, Histogram, and Power views.
- Simple RF-chain configuration tools to quickly detect and set up the recording environment.
- DriveViewTM option: Log video, audio, and NMEA data at the same time as recording RF.
