Toshiba America Consumer Products (TACP) today announced that Atsushi Murasawa was named as its new president and CEO.
Murasawa takes over the helm of TACP from Akio Ozaka, who returned to Toshiba Corp. in Tokyo.
Toshiba said Murasawa’s new appointment will allow him to bring his sales experience to TACP as the company builds momentum for its new line of digital home entertainment products in the United States.
Murasawa joined Toshiba in 1984, and since that time has held several positions in Japan and Europe. From 1998 to 2006 he served in Germany, France and the U.K. overseeing pan-European sales and marketing of digital products.
He returned to Japan in 2006, where he was most recently senior manager in the business planning department of the TV division.
