Honda announced its altered financial results for the fiscal year that ended in March, due to additional costs brought about by the large recall of its cars possessing faulty Takata airbags.
With the airbag costs accounted for, Honda said its operating profit was 606.8 billion yen ($4.9 billion) under U.S. standards. Those figures, which were changed from the 651.6 billion yen originally reported in April, demonstrates a 19 percent decline from the previous year. Honda announced earlier this month that it would announce the altered results due to the additional $44.8 billion hit it took due to the Takata fiasco.
