Koji Arima, the president of Toyota’s largest supplier, Denso, recently said that creating safety systems that will reduce the chances of a crash will be the first step in the long journey toward autonomous car-frequented roadways. “Ultimately we will probably see the world with fully autonomous driving systems, but I think it will take a long time before we can adopt the technology,” he said. “We have so many types of roads that are totally different from each other.”
