Trailer Park has signed on to become the first major content developer to leverage ActiveVideo Networks’ cloud-based interactive TV platform.
Trailer Park, under its recently formed Advanced Content Group, will use ActiveVideo Networks’ distributed CloudTV platform in tandem with its creative capabilities to deliver interactive entertainment to iTV audiences. The CloudTV platform allows content to be created once and distributed to any television screen, including digital cable boxes and Web-connected televisions.
“The demand for cutting-edge TV interactivity has grown dramatically among audiences and entertainment providers recently, but there hasn’t been one single platform for easy development and distribution of applications,” said Rick Eiserman, CEO of Trailer Park. “ActiveVideo’s CloudTV represents a dynamic new offering that will simplify Trailer Park’s ability to develop and provide compelling, interactive content and unique consumer experiences for every existing – and upcoming – delivery platform.”
ActiveVideo said it plans on securing more content partnerships for its CloudTV platform at next week’s NATPE 2010 Market & Conference in Las Vegas. ActiveVideo anticipates that it will be in 10 million homes by the end of 2010.
At the International Consumer Electronics Show earlier this month, ActiveVideo announced two content relationships: an agreement with Blockbuster that is designed to enhance the consumer VOD and EST experience of Blockbuster’s on-demand service across multiple connected platforms, and an expansion of ActiveVideo’s relationship with Tag Networks to include games on consumer electronics devices, as well as cable set-top boxes.
