TTI, Inc. Vice President Total Quality, Kevin Sink, is slated to speak at the SMTA/CALCE Electronic Parts and Supply Chain Counterfeit Symposium June 25-27, 2013, in College Park, Maryland on the University of Maryland campus.
Recognized as an industry thought leader on this important hot button issue, Sink will present “A Workable Counterfeit Risk Mitigation Model.” In describing the model, Sink said, “The model lays out a plan whereby customers classify how critical a specific part is and overlay that rating with potential sources of supply. The more critical the part, or riskier the class of supplier, the more comprehensive the risk mitigation plan must be.”
Sink also will address the progress of the SAE G-19AD committee which he co-chairs. The committee currently is establishing the standard for counterfeit mitigation for authorized distributors. Sink added, “Although the distribution channel is extremely low risk at this time for counterfeit activity, it will help customers better understand the value of the authorized channel and what they can expect from it.”
