Time Warner Cable is laying claim to being the first cable operator to carry the New England Sports Network (NESN) with the launch of NESN National in its North Carolina and South Carolina systems.
NESN National is the national television service of NESN, a sports television network owned by the Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins. Time Warner Cable is offering NESN National on its SportsPass tier, which has more than 2 million subscribers in the Carolinas.
“The Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins are two of the best-known brands in professional sports, and the addition of NESN National to SportsPass is just another example of our commitment to offering customers more choice and more programming. We’re thrilled with this addition as we continue to provide new programming and product offerings,” said Dan Santelle, vice president of programming and product development for Time Warner Cable Carolinas.
NESN National can now be found on channel 529 in the following Time Warner Cable markets: Charlotte, Greensboro, Raleigh and Wilmington in North Carolina and Columbia, Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head in South Carolina.
Time Warner Cable’s SportsPass is available for up to $4.50 a month in North Carolina and up to $4.95 in South Carolina. In addition to NESN, Time Warner Cable lists 10 networks that are available to SportsPass subscribers in the Charlotte area.
