Time Warner Cable’s call center in Garfield Heights, Ohio, recently earned silver-level LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environment Design) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) under LEED 2009 for Commercial Interiors.
The 36,000-square-foot facility, which is part of the NEO Park commercial area, was leased and renovated by Time Warner Cable in 2009. It currently houses more than 300 employees and is one of two primary customer care call centers serving northeast Ohio and western Pennsylvania.
“One of our core values at Time Warner Cable is community, and we planned construction of this facility to be a green building, demonstrating our dedication to environmental sustainability,” said Don Jensen, Time Warner Cable vice president of customer care. “Earning silver LEED certification reflects Time Warner Cable’s commitment to being a responsible community partner.”
The cable industry has made a concerted effort to become more energy-efficient over the past few years, including the SCTE’s Smart Energy Management Initiative (SEMI) that was launched last year.
