Time Warner Cable recruited Wajeeha Aziz to serve as its AVP for technical operations for Brooklyn and Queens. Aziz started last week and succeeds Brien Kelley, who is retiring this month after more than 37 years at TWC. She will report to John Quigley, TWC’s regional VP of operations for the New York City/N.J. service area.
Kelley started his career as an operations supervisor at what was then Manhattan Cable. He has held a number of operations leadership positions in the NYC area, including leading all cable operations on Staten Island. He became AVP for Brooklyn and Queens in 2012, where he led all technical operations and oversaw TWC Maxx, which among other things increased Internet speeds to 300 Mpbs. TWC says that under his leadership, techs serving Queens and Brooklyn customers arrive on-time 98 percent of the time during TWC’s one-hour appointment windows.
Aziz brings more than 25 years of industry experience to TWC. She most recently served as director of operations for Verizon, where she led the construction, migration and deployment of its network in Brooklyn and the Bronx and had overarching responsibility of 1,200 employees. She also managed the company’s construction and customer operations on Long Island.
