Time Warner Cable is deploying its TWC Maxx to customers in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. The service features ultrafast Internet speeds, advanced TV services and what the company calls best-in-class reliability.
“With TWC Maxx, we’re essentially reinventing the TWC experience,” Mark Dunford, TWC Area Vice President, says. “We will boost Internet speeds for customers up to six times faster, dramatically improve the TV product and set a high bar in our industry for differentiated, exceptional customer service.”
Customers in Northern Kentucky already have an all-digital lineup, and now will have access to beefier Internet speeds beginning in early spring. For example, Standard customers who formerly had up to 15 Mbps, will get up to 50 Mbps. Extreme customers at the former 30 Mbps level will shoot up to 200 Mbps. Those choosing Ultimate (formerly up to 50 Mbps) will receive up to 300 Mbps. TWC reports that subscribers won’t have a change in their monthly plan price.
In areas north of the Ohio River, customers have begun the transition to all-digital video service. The 100 percent digital lineup improves picture and sound for customers currently receiving analog signals, and frees up vital capacity in TWC’s network to offer faster Internet speeds and additional on-demand content.
TWC began implementing major enhancements to its network in Central and Northern New York with the launch of Enhanced DVR in 2015, which lets customers simultaneously record up to six different programs and save 150 hours of HD programming on its 1 TB hard drive. That’s twice the storage of the largest prior model.
TWC also reports that it has committed to new network performance standards companywide, which includes a stringent review and upgrade of every hub.
