AT&T announced that DirecTV is offering parts of the U.S. Open golf tournament to viewers in 4K. During all four rounds this week in Oakmont, Pa., holes 3, 13, and 17 will be part of the 4K UHD broadcast.
The operator has previously offered golf fans access to parts of the Masters, which was its inaugural live 4K event, and the AT&T Byron Nelson. Some Major League Baseball games also are being made available in 4K ultra HD.
Viewers need a Genie HD DVR (model HR54 or later) and a DirecTV 4K ready TV, or a 4K TV connected to a 4K Genie Mini. They also must have the company’s Ultimate package or higher and 4K account authorization, and professional installation is required.
