VadaTech Announces Xilinx All Programmable FPGA Mezzanine Carriers

March 15, 2014 By Aimee Kalnoskas Leave a Comment

VadaTechVadaTech, a manufacturer of embedded boards and complete application-ready platforms, has released a full suite of FPGA Mezzanine Carriers based on Xilinx® All Programmable FPGAs.

The VadaTech Advanced Mezzanine Card (AMC) modules come in versions that include Virtex®-5, Virtex®-6, Artix®-7, Kintex®-7, Virtex®-7 FPGAs and Zynq® All Programmable SoCs. These AMC modules come in the single-width size. The Virtex-7 device was also selected for a 100G Processor with an integrated FPGA in the double-module AMC size. The broad offering allows engineers to choose the price/performance level that best matches their application. The FPGA Carriers allow any VITA-57 complaint FMC mezzanines to be plugged in, providing a wealth of I/O options.

The FPGA carrier modules include DDR3 memory, allowing large buffer sizes and queuing during processing. The Virtex and Kintex versions have optional local processors that provide more reliability, performance and eliminate a potential single-point-of-failure in the system.

Sanjay Gehani, Senior Manager, Partnerships for Smarter Vision of Xilinx commented, “The release by VadaTech of this suite of FPGA Mezzanine Carriers illustrates the diversity and flexibility of the Xilinx All Programmable FPGA family. The VadaTech modules offer cost effective and accessible performance at every level. VadaTech is offering designers solutions that are a generation ahead in terms of price, performance and power consumption.”

VadaTech also provides FMC modules per VITA-57 in versions with various I/O configurations and in types for ADC/DAC. Other non-carrier and specialty FPGAs are offered by the company.
