Suddenlink has experience a rash of vandalism that has cut off service in parts of northern California.
Vandals have broken into Suddenlink facilities and have cut sections out of fiber optic cables in various Suddenlink facilities in Humboldt County.
The vandals hit a facility in Ferndale on March 8; another in the same area on March 11; a third in Bayside on March 13; and most recently in Arcata, on Friday.
Some customers have experienced service interruptions of up to 48 hours. SuddenLink reported that all service was restored as of yesterday.
Local law enforcement believes the same people are responsible for all the crimes. They suspect the the vandals are would-be thieves, looking for copper that could be sold for scrap, according to local sources.
Thousands of customers have had their service interrupted for hours at a time because of the vandalism.
Damages have been estimated as high as $50,000. Suddenlink is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
