Companies that would like to resell Motorola Mobility’s Passive Optical LAN (POL) product line can now do so through a new value-added reseller program begun by Advanced Media Technologies (AMT).
VARs of the Motorola PON gear would be able to resell in North America and Latin America, according to AMT, Motorola’s largest distributor.
POL replaces existing LAN connections with a single high-capacity fiber-optic cable designed to connect the end user directly to the data center. Derived from carrier-grade passive optical networking (PON) technology, POL helps end users realize substantial capex and opex savings, while taking significant steps toward becoming a more green enterprise, AMT explained.
AMT said it will fulfill POL product requirements directly to VARs, along with additional products and services offered by AMT as customers require. AMT will also provide resellers with training, support and tools for the sales and marketing of POL.
“For those companies looking to drive real cost out of IT operations, Passive Optical LAN offers a disruptive TCO equation over traditional LAN architectures,” said Joe Cozzolino, senior vice president and general manager of access networks solutions at Motorola Mobility.
