VeEX has added OTDR capability to the company’s flagship 10G multi-service tester, the TX300S.
The TX300S integrates a set of physical layer optical test tools, including a full featured OTDR, a power meter, a light source and a visual fault locator. Fiber inspection probes provide end face analysis according to IEC standards ensuring connectors will not be a potential source of problems or system outage. An array of transport and packet based test functionalities up to 10G, including T-Carrier/PDH, SDH/SONET, OTN, Fiberchannel, Ethernet, SyncE/1588 PTP, CPRI, OBSAI, systems can be verified according to industry defined standards and customer’s SLA parameters.
Combing Optical and Ethernet test capabilities into a single, portable platform increases operational-efficiency, VeEX said. With that combination, field technicians and engineers are equipped to tackle the physical fiber layer and transport challenges of next generation mobile network deployments. This includes the roll out of the newest backhaul technologies such as fiber-to-the-tower (FTTT), fiber-to-the-antenna (FTTA), Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) using small cells and remote radio heads (RRH), some of which employ CPRI/OBSAI functions.
Today’s field technicians not only need multiple skill sets and expertise in various fields but also require an easy to use tester that is rich with features to face any network situation. The TX300S platform delivers on all these requirements and empowers technicians and engineers worldwide to do the job the right way, first time.
Weighing less than 6 lbs., the TX300S is suited to address multiple work environments. The ruggedized chassis incorporates a fan and vent free design preventing dust and moisture ingress, so it’s perfectly adapted for the challenging outside plant environment.
