VeEx has introduced what it says is the industry’s first all-in-one installation and maintenance tester for next-generation DOCSIS 3.0 networks.
Configured with a high-performance, dual-band signal level meter by default, a range of options – including a CableLabs-certified dual-band DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem, a 1 GHz spectrum analyzer, a forward and return path digital QAM analyzer, a long-range TDR and an upstream QAM signal generator – can be added and tailored for specific cable TV workforce teams.
“Our CX350 comes at the right time with many MSOs around the world deploying DOCSIS 3.0 services,” said Cyrille Morelle, VeEx’s CEO and president. “This new product will help MSOs reduce capex and opex with its a la carte configuration flexibility and its advanced workforce management.”
Equipped with a built-in 10/100/1000-T/X Ethernet engine, copper and fiber interfaces, BERT, RFC2544 and related test applications, the CX350 is able to test and troubleshoot backbone connections to the CMTS and verify the full bandwidth of a DOCSIS 3.0 network while operating in modem pass-through mode. For enterprise circuit emulation applications, a dual T1 (1.544 Mbps) interface card can be added for BERT and ISDN PRI service verification.
It also supports VeEx applications such as workforce management, a centralized server for data collection and asset management, as well as home birth certificate and auto tests.
