A batch of vendors will show off a range of products and services at next week’s (Aug. 14-17) CableLabs Summer Conference in Keystone, Colo.
• C-COR Inc. will demo three products: a Policy Server Manager for the PacketCable Multimedia (PCMM) architecture, the n5 video server and VoiceAssure, the latest app for its CableEdge suite.
On the server end, the n5 is a new hybrid that employs both RAM streaming and disk-based storage. VoiceAssure, meanwhile, manages quality and capacity planning for VoIP rollouts, including the creation of “birth certificates” that preserve that state of the system at time of VoIP install.
• Bluestreak Network Inc. will showcase its “MachBlue Studio” for television and mobile. The platform is designed for set-tops that use CableLabs-specified OpenCable Application Platform (OCAP) middleware for digital set-tops and televisions, as well as mobile phones. MachBlue, a presentation layer built on Flash that eats up less than a 1 megabyte of memory, offers a native library on an OCAP-based Java stack, and is optimized for games and interactive program guides, as well as enhanced TV apps, the company said.
• Integra5 Communications and Sigma Systems will demo a converged service platform that automates the rollout of voice, video and data applications, including TV-based personalized Picture Caller ID. The demo will show off the combo of Sigma’s Service Management Platform OSS, which handles the service provisioning, activation and authorization, with Integra5’s UniTV system, which personalizes and delivers the application.
• Infinera Corp. will demonstrate a fiber optical transport platform based on photonic integrated circuits. The company’s DTN is optimized for high-speed data, video-on-demand and legacy TDM and video services, and capacity can be added “on the fly,” the company said. The platform is designed to support GigE, 10GigE, as well as Sonet/SDH interfaces.
• Xtend Networks will features its T-1-over-coax and in-band bandwidth expansion gear. On the T-1 front, its “DOCSIS-based” XMTS can pump out symmetrical 1.544 Mbps via legacy HFC.
