Verizon Business announced today that is has launched a new Wi-Fi interface that will make it easier for customers to connect to the more than 70,000 worldwide Verizon hotspots.
The new interface, Verizon Wi-Fi Connect, is available as part of the Verizon Enterprise Mobility services suite. In addition, the company also announced that it has extended these services to Latin America.
The company said that Verizon Wi-Fi Connect maximizes the benefits of hotspot connectivity as part of an overall enterprise mobility strategy, providing integrated billing and management capabilities, including monitoring of Wi-Fi usage.
Verizon Wi-Fi Connect, which Verizon Business said has an easy-to-use interface, is interoperable with all common wireless LAN software utilities and works with existing connectivity preferences and corporate security procedures.
In other Verizon news, Verizon Business and Virtusa Corp. have teamed up to develop an “innovative approach to the management of information technology (IT) assets.”
Verizon Business said it has developed specialized software that enhances the company’s ability to manage its portfolio of IT assets in line with corporate objectives. This new software is supported by a scoring and analysis model developed with Virtusa. The resulting approach gives Verizon Business the ability to assess the business value of IT applications within the company’s broad portfolio.
The model measures IT applications in terms of their efficiency, effectiveness and revenue impact. The application-scoring model supports the company’s efforts to improve its use of IT applications, hardware and software resources.
