How much consumers are actually paying attention to safeguarding their devices from online threats remains an ongoing question, but as you can read about more here, they’re generally not doing a great job, according to some technology pundits.
Looking to help take some of the issues around those hazards on, Verizon introduced its Digital Security Pro on Wednesday that combines solutions from LifeLock and McAfee into an offering for its Fios and high-speed internet subscribers. Verizon says that Digital Security Pro helps protect customer identity online, shields multiple devices from malware and viruses at home and on-the-go, and provides parental control over the use of the internet.
LifeLock Select offers members fictitious identity monitoring, a single bureau annual credit report, VantageScore credit score and credit monitoring and alerts, and lost wallet protection. It also includes identity restoration specialist support and LifeLock’s “$1M Service Guarantee,” where LifeLock will spend that amount to hire experts to help fix members’ identity theft issues.
Verizon’s Internet Security Suite by McAfee is said to shield devices in the home and on-the-go with 24/7 real-time protection against the latest viruses, malware, and online threats.
As for parental controls, Safe Family by McAfee allows parents to manage which websites and apps their children access. They also can also set timers to help limit device usage across multiple devices.
Verizon is offering Digital Security Pro for $10 a month.
