Verizon Communications CEO Ivan Seidenberg said his company isn’t ruling out any future acquisitions, including Qwest Communications International’s long-haul network.
In an interview with The Wall Street Journal (story here), Seidenberg said Verizon may acquire a few smaller wireless carriers, and that Apple’s iPhone won’t be coming to Verizon any time soon.
Verizon is currently handcuffed from offering the iPhone because it wasn’t designed to work on Verizon’s existing CDMA network, but Seidenberg said the iPhone could become available once Verizon completes its 4G network.
Verizon’s CEO also said that he thought Vodafone would sell its 45 percent stake in Verizon Wireless, but Verizon may not be interested because the two companies are dissimilar.
