Verizon FiOS is working on adding more HD channels, and on that note, it announced that BBC America HD is now available to its FiOS TV subscribers.

“We are thrilled that we are now able to make BBC America HD a part of our FiOS TV lineup,” said Terry Denson, vice president of content strategy and acquisition for Verizon. “Fans of BBC America will now be able to enjoy their favorite programming in HD via FiOS TV’s 100 percent fiber-optic network to the home.”

BBC America HD is available in FiOS TV’s Extreme HD and Ultimate HD packages. The channel was already available in standard-definition on FiOS TV. Verizon said it also plans to add BBC America HD to its video-on-demand offerings soon.

Comcast, DirecTV, Dish Network and Time Warner Cable also offer BBC America on-demand.
