Verizon Wireless announced today that it’s offering customers a new tool to help them manage photos, videos and music between their wireless phones and PCs.
The new tool is called “V Cast Media Manager,” and it’s a customized version of QuickLink Media from Smith Micro Software.
Currently, the V Cast Media Manger works with the LG enV Touch and the Samsung Alias and Alias 2 phones, and it will work with Android-powered devices and other devices available in the coming months.
V Cast Media Manager allows customers to move their user-generated photos and videos from their phones to their personal computers by using a USB cable. Customers can then use V Cast Media Manager to transfer the same content, as well as unprotected music from their PCs to another V Cast Media Manager-enabled handset, ensuring that content is available for use in other applications.
“This tool is the first step in giving our customers the resources they need to make the most of the multimedia content they create, acquire or store using their wireless devices,” said Kyle Malady, vice president of product development at Verizon Wireless.
