Comcast Cable announced this morning that effective immediately, Robert S. Victor was named senior vice president, finance and business operations, for Comcast Business.
Victor reports to Bill Stemper, president of Comcast Business, and Stephen Perez will join his team as vice president, financial planning and operations.
Victor took over his new position from Gary Rostick, who was appointed chief financial Officer of Comcast Spectacor, the Philadelphia-based sports and entertainment firm.
“Bob brings a proven track record of strategic and financial planning skills that will help ensure Comcast Business continues its rapid expansion,” said Stemper. “He will help us maintain the strong financial competencies that Gary Rostick established and work with our team to pursue new paths for growth.”
At Comcast Business, Victor is responsible for financial planning, reporting and analysis; the budget and long range plan; sales operations reporting; and new growth initiatives.
“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Bob for the past six years. He is an executive who focuses on financial returns and has strengthened the organization’s strategic capabilities,” said Michael Angelakis, vice chairman and CFO, Comcast Corporation. “I’m delighted he’s joining Bill Stemper and the Comcast Business team during this exciting time of growth and acceleration for us in the commercial sector.”
Victor and his team will work closely with field leadership and cable’s finance organization to develop operating budgets and pursue new opportunities.
“I’m really excited about the opportunity to contribute to such a large and fast-growing segment of the Corporation and to work with Bill, the Comcast Business team, and Comcast Cable’s finance team, led by Comcast Cable’s CFO Cathy Avgiris,” said Victor.
Most recently, Victor served as senior vice president of strategic and financial planning for Comcast Corporation where he was responsible for overseeing the corporate strategy and financial planning functions and reported Angelakis.
He co-led the transition of NBCUniversal from GE to Comcast and the integration of NBCUniversal’s and Comcast’s Cable networks. In addition, he helped found and lead Comcast’s financial management leadership Program for high potential early-career finance professionals, and has been involved in numerous cross-industry initiatives, including developing Cable WiFi, the cable industry’s nationwide WiFi roaming network.
Prior to joining Comcast, he served as partner and managing director of The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and headed the firm’s technology, media and telecommunications practice on the East Coast.
Perez will be responsible for financial planning and maintaining business operations with financial leaders across the country. Previously, he served as executive director, Financial planning and analysis. He joined Comcast in 2004 as an internal audit manager.
