A privately-owned submarine made to explore the Titanic is coming together. The Cyclops 2, built by Washington state-based OceanGate, is currently under construction. OceanGate has previously used its privately held manned submarines for site survey and inspection, film and media production, and scientific research. CEO Stockton Rush says that Cyclops 2 will be able to carry five people to depths of 4,000 meters.
OceanGate hopes to begin their survey expedition in June 2018. Next, the submersible will be fitted with electronics, navigation, and life support.
