Videotron recently hired Yann Paquet as its vice president of multi-platform content.
Videotron launched its own Web portal last summer, followed by a mobile network launch in September. The Canadian cable operator is aggressively adding content to its TV Everywhere-type services over the Internet and over its mobile network, including video from parent company Quebecor Media.
In his new role, Videotron said Paquet will be responsible for implementing and realizing its vision for multi-platform content across multiple screens and media. He will also be responsible for cable television programming, the Indigo pay-per-view service, video-on-demand, illico web and all mobile content offerings.
Paquet has more than 15 years of media experience in content creation, multi-platform content management, partnership negotiations, product development and business model development.
Prior to joining Videotron, he was vice president of digital media and strategic partnerships with Reader’s Digest. He also spent many years with the CBC in a variety of management positions, including senior manager of new media.
