Canadian cable operator Videotron has added two new residential telephone call management options for its voice subscribers.
Videotron voice customers can use its Customer Centre to manage their privacy options and set up call forwarding, personalized ringtones, and some voicemail and call waiting functionalities whenever they want.
Videotron announced the introduction of two new residential telephone call management options to help customers protect their privacy – call screen and privacy – that can also be managed from the Customer Centre.
With call screen, Videotron has given its subscribers the option of blocking unwanted calls from up to 30 numbers, including private, toll-free and mobile numbers.
Call screen can be managed from the customer’s telephone or online, where all the blocked numbers are displayed as a list and can readily be viewed and edited. This option also lets users reject all calls from callers who have blocked their number. Call screen is available a la carte for $4 per month.
The privacy option lets customers control the information about them that will appear in the telephone directory or be provided by 411. It also includes permanent Caller ID block, which permanently prevents the customer’s name and number from appearing on the other party’s caller display. The privacy option is available a la carte for $2 per month.
