Carl Vogel is no longer serving as interim president at EchoStar Communications; he has formally assumed the position, effective immediately.
Vogel had been splitting the duties of the office with CTO Michael Dugan since the resignation at the beginning of the year of Michael Neuman after a short reign. Vogel will also continue to serve as vice chairman of EchoStar’s board of directors.
Vogel rejoined EchoStar in 2005 after serving as president and CEO of Charter Communications. His original stint as president was from 1994 to 1997, during which EchoStar launched the Dish Network.
EchoStar also named Bernard L. Han as chief financial officer, effective Sept. 28, succeeding David J. Rayner, who will assume the new role of executive vice president in charge of the company’s national installation and service network.
Han most recently served as as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Northwest Airlines.
