Vudu is offering a new service enabled by UltraViolet that lets subscribers share their digital movie and TV show collection with up to five people for free, without sharing their password.
All that’s required are the e-mail addresses of the five people designated.
Users visit Vudu.com and enter up to five e-mails of family members or friends with whom they’d like to share their UltraViolet movies and TV shows. Each invited person will receive an email with a link to create a Vudu account that connects to the subscriber’s UltraViolet Library.
Share My Movies applies to all DVDs or Blu-ray movies available at a Walmart stores (Walmart owns Vudu) that come with an UltraViolet digital copy.
“We know you’ve spent a significant amount of money and time building your collection and have plenty more films to add to it,” said Amit Balan, senior director of Vudu, in a blog post. “With thousands of UltraViolet titles to choose from, Vudu enables you to watch your digital movies and TV shows across your favorite devices including your laptop, smartphone, iPad Air, Xbox One and PS4.”
