RCN Business announced that WBL Services has selected it to provide connectivity for the media center’s communications and data transport in the New York tri-state area for Sunday’s Super Bowl.
As part of the agreement, RCN Business is providing big data circuits to WBL Services to enable HDTV live video and advanced voice communications. Connectivity includes the MetLife Stadium, home of the Super Bowl, the Sheraton NYC, and the “Big Game” Boulevard (Broadway from 34th Street to 42nd Street). Connectivity also includes other locations, such as 1441 Broadway, Pennsylvania Hotel and 1133 Avenue of the Americas.
“RCN Business installed these large data circuits well ahead of time despite the short notice,” said Bill Lipscomb, senior principal of WBL Services. “The communication network was installed in a very professional, efficient manner with prompt and transparent support from RCN’s 24-hour operations team. As a result, we are ready and look forward to this weekend’s ‘Big Game.’”
WBL Services provides telecommunication services and support for CenturyLink Field and Event Center in Seattle. WBL also provides telecommunication services for large sporting events, trade shows, conferences and special events throughout the world.
“We are proud to contribute to the infrastructure for New Jersey and New York City’s ‘Big Game’, with our Big Data solutions,” said Bruce Abbott, general manager, and vice president for RCN New York. “Our partnership with WBL Services showcases our ability to deliver communication services to national and global companies that require prompt, efficient and trouble-free services, so that companies like WBL can focus on supporting their clients without worrying about their network security or reliability.”
