WebNMS and VeEX said they are partnering to deliver Carrier Ethernet network management solutions that will extend from service provisioning to activation to performance monitoring.
The companies intend to integrate VeEX’s VePAL UX400 with the WebNMS Carrier Ethernet Solution. The multi-service VeEX VePAL UX400 Universal Test Platform offers high-precision, concurrent service testing across a wide spectrum of network ports, including 40G and 100G OTN and Ethernet interfaces.
By combining the systems, the partners give their carrier customers high-fidelity performance monitoring, including service activation testing, under a unified network management platform.
Ricardo Torres, director of product marketing at VeEX, said use of the VePAL has helped its customers “reduce their operational costs by enabling automated service activation testing and performance monitoring for Carrier Ethernet 2.0 services. By integrating with WebNMS, we enable service providers to unify their end-to-end service management across multiple vendors, including sharing service visibility to their customers through the integrated WebNMS Customer SLA Portal.”
Carriers need to automate service provisioning and operations to meet the increasing demand for dynamic services on their evolving Carrier Ethernet networks. This requires end-to-end, multi-vendor network management with high-fidelity insight into the state of their networks.
“The VePAL UX400 gives carriers a powerful tool for remote test automation, now manageable through the unified WebNMS Carrier Ethernet Solution,” said Prabhu Ramachandran, director of WebNMS. “Together, remote test and unified network management help enable dynamic provisioning of on-demand services.”
Remote test automation helps eliminate the manual and expensive process of a truck roll that would prohibit efficient services provisioning and activation. Once a dynamic change is made, service activation test results help guarantee the new service delivery and backward compatibility with other services.
