The WiMAX Forum announced the certification of several fixed wireless broadband network products. Each of the products recently achieving WiMAX Forum certification is based on the defined frequency division duplexing (FDD) system profile operating in the 3.5 GHz frequency spectrum.
The WiMAX Forum member companies and products to complete certification and interoperability testing include Airspan’s MacroMAX base station and EasyST subscriber station solution; Axxcelera’s ExcelMax base station; Sequans Communications’ SQN1010-RD subscriber station solution; Siemens’ WayMAX@vantage base station and subscriber station solutions; and Wavesat’s miniMAX subscriber station solution.
These latest products bring to 14 the number of fixed WiMAX products having received the WiMAX Forum Certified seal since the certification program started two months ago.
Separately, the WiMAX Forum also announced the successful completion of the 3rd WiMAX Forum Plugfest, an interoperability event held March 12-19 at the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) headquarters in Sophia Antipolis, France.
Plugfests provide WiMAX Forum member companies with the opportunity to test the interoperability of their respective pre-certified products and equipment in advance of final testing.
