Windstream revealed an expansion on Wednesday of its advanced metro fiber network in St. Louis. “This ambitious project will result in a new level of connectivity and network stability for businesses in St. Louis, including in the Central Business District, Olivette, and Maryland Heights areas,” Chris Nein, regional president at Windstream explains.
The company says the expansion will provide businesses with fiber and fixed-wireless infrastructure that connects more local data centers and commercial buildings with Windstream’s nationwide fiber network. The expansion is said to increase both the footprint of the company’s network and the services that are available to local customers – including SD-WAN, wavelengths, cloud connectivity, Ethernet networking, unified communications, managed network security, and cloud services.

“By including SD-WAN as another solution in our portfolio of managed WAN services, Windstream offers mid- to large-sized enterprise customers the same technology advantages that large enterprises enjoy, which include custom-designed networks and services, as well as a highly responsive support team,” Joe Harding, enterprise chief marketing officer at Windstream says.
