Windstream launched Gigabit Internet service in four market areas this week. The service is available to approximately 35,000 residential and small business customers in Lincoln, Neb.; Lexington, Ky.; Sugar Land, Texas and seven North Carolina communities (China Grove, Concord, Davidson, Harrisburg, Kannapolis, Lewisville and Matthews).
“We’re continuing to build on the momentum we started last year with the launch of premium speeds, Kinetic TV and Project Excel to further improve our network and expand our service offering,” Tony Thomas, president and chief executive officer at Windstream, says.
Over the last three years, Windstream has made investments in infrastructure and network upgrades across the four market areas. These investments have brought customers expanded speeds of 50-100 Mbps Internet service, Windstream’s Kinetic TV service in some cities, and these 1 Gig Internet services.
