Windstream has acquired New York-based MASS Communications for $37.5 million, enhancing the telco’s network management offerings.
Privately-held MASS is a telecom network management company serving small-to-medium-sized business across a host of sectors including finance, tech, education, healthcare and government. MASS provides managed services including voice and data, circuit monitoring, SD-WAN, and security.
“This acquisition adds a well-run company with a customer-first mindset and an impressive track record of growing revenue to Windstream,” Layne Levine, president of Windstream enterprise & wholesale, said in a statement.
The CLEC made the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. for five years running, since 2013. In a news release last year, MASS said it had 42 employees and “consistent double-digit annual revenue growth over the last 10 years.”
MASS CEO Darren Mass has also joined Windstream as president-resale of the company’s enterprise and wholesale business unit.
“MASS Communications has built a phenomenal portfolio of clients through both partner and reseller relationships. Darren’s collaborative, customer-centric approach to solutions and commitment to a superior customer experience are aligned with our company values. I am confident his leadership of our reseller business will help drive organic revenue growth,” Levine said.
