WOW! Internet, Cable & Phone revealed plans on Tuesday to launch broadband speeds up to 1 Gbps in five U.S. markets by the end of this year. The rollout will provide gigabit speeds to both residential and business customers in Huntsville and Auburn, Ala.; Evansville, Ind., Knoxville, Tenn. and Grosse Pointe Shores, Mich.
In Evansville and Auburn, WOW! says it will be the first service provider to bring residents and small businesses 1 gigabit service. In Michigan, WOW! is expanding its footprint to Grosse Pointe Shores, which represents the company’s largest investment in fiber to the home.
“In many of our markets, we are already offering the highest speeds available with our 600 Mbps internet service. By enabling 1 Gig internet over our existing coax plant and through our targeted fiber to the home investment, WOW! is demonstrating its commitment to continually innovate and deliver products that help our residential and business customers to connect,” WOW! CEO Steven Cochran says.
