Probably the best way to get a teenager’s attention is via a TV screen. AT&T’s newest app, TV Notes, does just that by allowing users to post pop-up messages onto subscribers’ TV screens.
TV Notes can be used by AT&T video customers that also subscribe to the company’s data service. The messages are created by pressing the “Go Interactive” button on the U-verse remote. Users can send or schedule TV Notes directly from the app’s menu, or they can send TV Notes from their smartphone via a text message to an assigned number.
TV Notes enables personalized notes, or a list of pre-defined messages such as “Call met at work.” Users can schedule when their message will be displayed, what channel they will be displayed on and at what frequency.
The TV Note app also activates TV parental controls or the ability to block the TV so it can’t be viewed without entering a 4-digit parental control code.
“TV Notes brings your TV and mobile experiences together to give you another way to connect while you’re away from home,” said GW Shaw, vice president of U-verse and video products, AT&T Home Solutions. “We’re excited to bring customers an app that’s both fun and functional. As kids return to school and we all get into our fall routines, parents, husbands, wives, family members and roommates have a convenient, new way to communicate.”
