Nanopower Semiconductor has announced the nPZ2100, a companion power-saving IC in its nPZero™ platform for battery-powered sensor and edge devices. The device is specified at 200 nA typical idle current at 3.0 V and 1 µA polling current, supports up to six peripherals over I²C or SPI, includes four 1 mA peripheral power switches plus a 10 mA host power switch and operates from −40°C to +85°C. By handling sensor polling, event monitoring and peripheral power control while the host MCU is off, the nPZ2100 can reduce MCU wake-ups, lower system energy use and extend battery service intervals in IoT sensors, asset trackers, wearables and industrial battery-powered nodes.
