Microchip Technology has announced the POL-05-20S-T radiation-tolerant point-of-load converter, which uses GaN power devices to deliver up to 20 A from a 4.75 V to 13.2 V input range with an adjustable 0.7 V to 5 V output. The 25 g surface-mount device measures 1.51 × 1.51 × 0.45 inches and supports FPGA, microcontroller and ASIC power rails, with TID performance specified to 50 krad, SEE characterization to 43 MeV·cm²/mg and operation from −55°C to +100°C at full load.
