Amdocs and IBM are combining resources and portfolios to offer telecommunications services providers a set of products required to span and unite business support systems (BSS) and operations support systems (OSS). They’re calling the combination Customer Management, Revenue Management and Service and Resource Management.
The pitch is that the combination of these products will help service providers (who have been growing through mergers and acquisitions) deal with legacy systems even as they begin to migrate to converged networks to add new services and features.
IBM and Amdocs said they will supplement the products with systems integration and business change services.
The first two combo products are Order to Cash and Triple Play. The Order to Cash solution will help service providers reduce the cycle time and costs of delivering a new product or service upon receiving a customer order. The Triple Play solution is designed to reduce time to market for new services, bundles or packages, including wireline and wireless voice, data and video.
